As part of the ongoing £100m redevelopment of Queen St station in the centre of Glasgow it was necessary for the main chiller plant serving the Millennium Hotel to be relocated or replaced. DFM were involved with the site survey of existing equipment and detailed proposals on replacement plant from the offset of the project.
Ingen Technical services Ltd secured the project and adopted the proposal to supply new chiller plant to serve the Hotel cooling system. The project needed a high efficiency chiller solution suitable for a very compact city centre location.
Working with Ingen''s technical and contracts engineers DFM supplied a Clivet WSAT XEM Packaged air cooled chiller complete with on board inverter driven vary flow pumps, soft start package, acoustic sound proofing pack, fan speed control and intelligent controls. The chiller unit is capable of delivering 267 KW of cooling capacity to the existing cooling system.
